Embroidery

I now offer Embroidery services! Check with me for all your embroidery needs such as jackets, hats, sports uniforms and any other garments.

Embroidery is a viable option for decorating your garments when you have small quantities making screenprinting impractical.

I have a 15 color top of the line machine and have many samples for viewing. When one wants a logo sewn on say, a coat, first the design must be digitized which involves a computer program creating an instruction file which the embroidery machine recognizes. Quality digitizing is important and the process is very time consuming resulting in fees to have a logo digitized. Once digitized though, the logo can be sewn as many times as desired.

Costs for embroidery vary with the number of garments to be embroidered, complexity of design and number of stitches. Typically one can expect to pay $1.00 per 1000 stitches with a minimum charge applicable. An average logo will have from 4000 to 10,000 stitches.
Screen Printing

What is screen printing? The process involves creating a "screen" which has the design transferred to it. Once this is done, ink is added to the screen and with a rubber squeegee the ink is forced through the open mesh or screen resulting in the design being transferred to a garment.

Once the ink is on the garment, the ink is then cured with heat. After curing the clothing is ready to wear. Because making screens is a time intensive operation fees are charged to help cover the labor.

Many tee shirts are screenprinted. Many shirts have more than one color. Each color requires a seperate screen and increases expense. Pricing for screenprinting varies based on the number of colors being printed and the quantity of garments being printed.

Dark colored shirts bring with them certain challenges. A popular color of ink for dark shirts is white. White is a difficult color to adequately coat a shirt with once and achieve good coverage. Often a second coat of ink is applied for brightly printed designs. This process nearly doubles the production time of a shirt increasing expenses as well.
Vinyl & Heat pressing

Other garment decoration options exist and are often very good choices. A special "heat press vinyl" is available to apply to garments. This vinyl is very durable and is applied with a heat press. I choose the very best vinyl available to avoid problems with adhesion. If you see numbers applied to sports uniforms chances are good that they were heat pressed on. This is also how names are applied as well.

I have a large commercial vinyl cutter allowing me to cut designs and names for application to shirts uniforms and any other garments as desired. Don't confuse garment vinyl or "heat press vinyl" with sign vinyl.

Sign vinyl is a different cat altogether! Indoor and outdoor signs use this type and have an adhesive coating to adhere to it's intended surface without any application of heat.
